VOLUNTEER FOR CROSSFIRE SELECT

Crossfire Select is a volunteer-run organization. We're always looking for volunteers to help throughout the year, so if you have any skills you can donate to the Club, let us know!

Many corporations offer matching funds for volunteer hours. Ask your HR department if they will match your volunteer hours.

Volunteer Job Descriptions

Emergency Coordinator/Planner


Description: Write action plans and update periodically, at least annually. Time Commitment:
12 - 20 hours initially, plus ongoing updates.

Reports to: Crossfire Select Board Details:

  • Appropriate for volunteers with medical training background only.
  • Identify a uniform Emergency Action Plan for coaches.
  • Work with Director of Coaching on educating for injury prevention.
  • Coordinate First Aid /CPR training for new coaches.
  • Most of the work required for this position can be accomplished at home.




Gear and Equipment Coordinator


Description: Take inventory, and package gear and equipment for distribution. Work with Soccer West on the Apparel and Fan site. Most of the work required for this position can be accomplished at home. Time Commitment:
18-20 hours in early April (new coaches equipment). 5 hours in June and August (apparel fan gear).

Reports to: Crossfire Select Board Details:

  • Identifies equipment to be provided to each team and facilitates procurement and distribution.
  • Work with Soccer West to provide apparel for coaches, assistant coaches, and board members.
  • Work with Soccer West on a fan site and facilitate selection of Fan gear.
  • Track inventory, sort and distribute gear and equipment at Coach Meeting in April
  • Gather useable size 4 balls from Coaches graduating to size 5 (moving from U12 to U13).
  • Gather useable equipment from Coaches who are leaving or graduating (U19) Crossfire Select.
  • Track costs.




Event Planner


Description: Organize and manage annual Club events and special events. Time Requirement: TBD Reports to: Crossfire Select Board Details: Help organize and manage Club events including Parent Informational Meetings, Coach Meetings, Coach Socials, Volunteer Meetings, and Manager Meetings. Additional events as needed. Other events include:

  • June: Season Kick-off Party
  • July: Crossfire Select Cup support
  • Feb. Boys High School Tryouts
  • April: Purely Optional Playground Soccer (POPS)
  • April/May: Tryouts
  • April & June: Parent Mettings
  • Nov.: Annual Club Meeting




Strategic Partnering / Branding Coordinator


Description: Work with the Crossfire Select BOD throughout the year to determine opportunities for promotion of the Crossfire Select Brand. Identify strategic business partnership opportunities that align with the Crossfire Select mission statement as well as strategic vision. Time commitment: Ongoing - Total hours 50 Reports to: Crossfire Select Board Details:

  • This role would involve working with the Crossfire Select BOD throughout the year and determining opportunities for promotion of the Crossfire Select Brand.
  • Identify strategic business partnership opportunities that align with the Crossfire Select mission statement and strategic vision.
  • Identify branding opportunities to strengthen and promote the Crossfire Select name throughout the local community.
  • Identify community partnership opportunities that align with the Crossfire Select mission statement as well as strategic vision.
  • Identify marketing opportunities to promote Crossfire Select brand.
  • Identify opportunities for sponsorship which may including uniforms and Crossfire Select Cup.
  • Build and strengthen Crossfire Select identity across the membership and in the soccer community.
  • Matching the skills, experiences, and expectations of volunteers to available positions.




Volunteer Coordinator


Description: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and managing the volunteers for the Club. They will directly assess the volunteer needs of each event.
Time Commitment: June, July, January, February, April, May. Total hours 50. Reports to: Crossfire Select Board Details:

  • Determine the number of volunteers needed for the success of Club events, and assign roles.
  • Develop job descriptions for each role.
  • Create and manage SignupGenius
  • Match the skills, experiences and expectations of volunteers to available positions
  • Maintain a record of volunteers who could be invited to take on the same task next year or a bigger role.
  • Recognition of volunteers
  • Create and manage a Club Volunteer database
  • Follow up with those teams/individuals that have a shortfall
  • Develop policies and procedure
  • Main point of contact for volunteers




Photographer


Description: Take photos of games, practices, and/or the Crossfire Select Cup. Time Commitment: TBD Details: Take photos of players, coaches, fields...etc. for use on Crossfire Select's website and social media.
