CROSSFIRE SELECT TRYOUTS
Crossfire Select holds tryouts every year to form teams. Tryouts are held over two consecutive days and players are highly encouraged to attend both days. High school aged boys tryouts are held in February, and all other age groups tryout in May. Check the schedule to view times and locations. Teams are formed at the end of tryouts. Teams may occassionally have an open spot during the season. Contact us for availability.
HOW TO REGISTER
Register online to ensure a quick check-in process at tryouts. It's $20 pre-register online and $25 to register online the day of tryouts. Money is not accepted at the field the day of tryouts. Please note: We cannot issue refunds.
CHECK IN
Arrive 15-20 minutes early to check-in each day. Players will be assigned a number on the first day to use throughout tryouts. These player numbers are used by coaches when making player selections. Selected players will be identified by their assigned numbers.
ATTENDANCE
Players are strongly encouraged to attend both days of tryouts. If you can only attend one session or are arriving late, please let check-in staff know. Tryouts are held rain or shine. No make-up tryouts will be held.
TIME & DURATION
Tryouts generally consist of two sessions, one per day, each 75-90 minutes.
WHAT TO WEAR
Players must wear appropriate soccer footwear, shin guards and bring their own water bottle. Players may not wear jewelry of any kind. This includes necklaces, rings, earrings, or bracelets of any kind.
Players should not wear any club gear - this includes Crossfire Premier and Crossfire Select clothing. Players doing will be asked to remove such items during tryouts.
TRYOUT FORMAT
After all players have checked in, a tryouts facilitator will call participants onto the field to provide players instructions. Players will be put into small-sided games, and potentially full field games (7v7, 9v9, or 11v11) for assessment by Crossfire Select coaches.
During the course of the tryout sessions, players will move from field to field to be evaluated by as many coaches as possible. All players will be evaluated based on their technical, tactical, attitude/effort, and focus/concentration. We will have extra coaches on site evaluating players to provide input and feedback for head coaches.
PLAYING UP
The Club encourages players to tryout in their own age group, though they may be selected to play up a year based on their skill level. Players cannot tryout for younger age group. Read our policy on players trying out for an older age group.
TRYOUTS RESULTS
Following the final tryout session for your age group, head coaches will confirm their selections with the Coaching Director. Player selections will be posted on the Crossfire Select website within a few days of tryouts. Players will be listed by their assigned numbers from tryouts.
Players must respond to the coach via email within 24 hours to accept or decline the position. Failure to respond may mean that the coach offers the position to an alternate player. If you do not see your player's number listed on the website, that person was not selected for a team.
ALTERNATES
Some teams will post alternate numbers. These players have not yet been selected for a team, but if a selected player declines an invitation, an alternate player may be invited to join the team.
Alternate numbers are listed in ascending order. Being first in the list of alternates does not necessarily indicate that that player will be the first player selected in the event a player declines.
